Android V4.4 - PayTrace Go Walkthrough

The PayTrace Go app is free for both iOS and Android mobile devices. Before using the PayTrace Go app, please ensure the device and app are up-to-date.

With PayTrace GO, mobile devices can process credit card transactions in a simple and efficient manner. Transactions are securely transmitted to a merchant's PayTrace Professional account through the PayTrace API. Users can swipe or manually enter transactions as Authorizations or Sales. Signatures can be captured via the device's touch screen, and receipts can be emailed to the cardholder. Previous transactions can be viewed, and unsettled transactions can be voided.

The PayTrace API feature must be added to your account for the app to work. If you are not already signed up for this feature, please get in touch with your Merchant Service Provider or PayTrace Support at Support@PayTrace.com.

Processing a New Transaction

New Transaction Example
  1. Once you sign in, you will see the Home screen.

  2. Select New Transaction, and fill out the fields provided.

  3. Select Charge.

  4. On the Confirmation screen, select Continue.

    1. Note: You can Void an approved transaction while it is Pending.

  5. If you are processing an in-person transaction, you can accept a signature from the customer.

  6. Then, you have the option of emailing the receipt.

Charging a Saved Customer

Charging an Existing Customer Example
  1. From the Home screen, select Customers.

  2. Choose a Customer from the list.

  3. Select Start Transaction.

    1. It will auto-fill the customer's saved information.

  4. Enter the required information and then select Charge.

  5. Select Continue to proceed to the signature and the email receipt pages.

View Transactions

Use the image below to help you walk through the steps.

  1. From the Home screen, select View Transactions.

  2. Optional: Use the Search Bar to search transactions by the card's amount, name, or last 4 digits of the credit card. Required: Enter the date range that you would like to search.

    1. Note: It will default to the past seven days.

  3. Choose a transaction from the list to view its details or email a copy of the receipt.

    1. Note: If the transaction is in a Pending Settlement status, you can choose to Void it.

Settings

Connecting a Card Reader

Use the image below to help you walk through the steps.

  1. From the Home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select Card Reader.

  3. Select the card reader you purchased through our Recommended Hardware page.

If you are using the ID TECH VP3300, make sure your Bluetooth is On.

Do not connect the card reader to your phone via the Bluetooth menu. You will connect it using the app.

Update Password

Use the image below to help you walk through the steps.

  1. From the Home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select Update Password.

  3. Enter your old password and the new password.

  4. Select Update Password.

Updating your user credentials inside the App will update the user inside the Virtual Terminal and vice versa.

Sign Out

Use the image below to help you walk through the steps.

  1. From the Home screen, select Settings.

  2. Select Sign Out.

  3. Confirm Sign Out.
