Your PayTrace Virtual Terminal processes swiped credit card transactions. PayTrace uses a Keyboard Emulation format to read the magnetic stripe of the credit card.

How to Use This Page

  1. Connect your card reader to your computer.

  2. Log into the PayTrace system.

  3. Select Swipe Card from the Virtual Terminal Menu.

  4. Swipe the card through the card reader.
    The field will populate with hidden information (bullets).

  5. Select the Process button to navigate to the next page, where the transaction details are entered, including the amount.

  6. Enter any necessary information for this transaction.

  7. Select the Process button and then confirm the processing of the transaction.

  8. A confirmation page is displayed with a response from the credit card's issuer.
    Transaction receipts can be viewed, emailed, and printed from this confirmation page. The completed transaction is also available from the View Transactions page of the Virtual Terminal.

Detailed Description

Please ensure that the credit card number, expiration date, and name on the credit card match the information provided from the swipe. If the information below does not match the information on the card, kindly swipe the card again or request an alternative form of payment.

Supported Card Readers

Magtek Card Readers

  • MagTek Dynamag USB Keyboard Emulation

  • Part Number 21073062-BCIPT - Set at Security Level 2 or 3

  • MagTek's Magensa decryption service must be enabled for level 3 security, and the KSID must be set to 90118800

  • MagTek Mini USB Keyboard Emulation

  • White: Part Number 21040107

  • Black: Part Number 21040108

ID Tech Card Readers

  • ID Tech MiniMag 2 USB Keyboard Emulation

  • Part Number IDMB-334133B

Compatible Card readers: PayTrace is compatible with most card reading solutions that are able to send swiped card data to the computer as though the data was entered through a keyboard device. This technology or format is generally referred to as Keyboard Emulation. However, PayTrace is only able to support configuration questions regarding the above-listed equipment numbers.
